The young infant, according to American linguist Chomsky, has an innate capacity for universal language acquisition. Jolly Kingdom thus presents this 'Head Start' reading programme to parents who hope to take advantage of this capacity to instill early English literacy in their babies.

Infants under the age of 2 are in the 'sensori-motor' stage of cognitive development, meaning that they learn primarily through movement and through their five senses. KinderGenius I builds on this knowledge and is a step-by-step programme based on the established V.A.T. principle of teaching (Visual, Auditory, and Tactile) to promote multi-sensory learning.

A pictorial approach is taken to teaching English in order to stimulate the baby's right brain, which is most active at this age. Particularly, KinderGenius I teaches babies 'visual differentiation' so that they learn to differentiate between one written word and another, before even stepping into kindergarten. This is combined with KindermusikTM and vestibular exercises to create a well-rounded learning experience.

 
KinderGenius II (2 ~ 3 yrs old)
From the age of 2, a child's cognitive functioning begins to become qualitatively different. Renowned Developmental Psychologist Jean Piaget concluded that at this age, learning takes place less through the use of images and increasingly through the use of analysis. KinderGenius II thus acts as a bridge, guiding students through their transition from right-brain to left-brain learning, moving them gradually from associating words with pictures, to associating words with simple verbal units, phonemes, through the introduction of simple phonetic rules.

Jolly Activities and KindermusikTM from the KinderGenius I programme are retained to make for a smoother transition and to ensure that learning takes place in a fun and stimulating environment.
